MEX is Mexico City International Airport. Check whether your flight uses T1 or T2 before choosing an entrance or arranging pickup. Confirm the terminal in your booking and with the operating airline; the city name alone does not distinguish MEX from other airports.

If your wider itinerary includes a Tijuana border crossing, use the CBX crossing and pickup checklist when coordinating the next ground transfer.

Terminals and transport

The AICM Aerotrén connects T1 and T2. The airport publishes free service from 05:00 to 23:00 and requires a boarding pass. Check operational notices when travelling; normal hours do not confirm availability at that moment.

During an interruption, ask staff where to board replacement transport. Do not use a stop taken from a maintenance announcement for another date. For connections, follow the T1–T2 baggage checklist and keep your itinerary and boarding passes accessible.

What happens to checked bags

The AICM FAQ says an international arrival followed by a domestic flight requires baggage collection for customs. Confirm the collection and handover point with your airline for your booking, even if the tag shows the final destination.

Included pieces depend on fare, operator and route. The airport does not grant a universal allowance. If a bag fails to arrive, contact the airline’s baggage representative or desk before leaving the area.

Arrival, pickup and ground transport

AICM lists authorised taxi sales points in both terminals. Follow signs and confirm the destination and charge before purchasing. For a private pickup, share the terminal and meeting point once formalities are complete; do not promise an exit time based only on landing.

An itinerary arriving at MEX and leaving from NLU requires an airport change. Do not treat it as a gate change. Add necessary accommodation or transport to your trip budget using a quote for your date.

Before booking

Save airports, terminals, baggage arrangements, check-in deadlines and the contact handling changes in your trip planner. For separate tickets, ask the seller what happens if you miss the next flight. The flight catalogue helps explore routes; confirm availability and terms for your date.

Route-guide catalogue

These are existing editorial guides, not a live timetable. A link does not confirm nonstop service, a current operator, frequency or fare. Check the actual itinerary and date before booking.
